The Center for Advanced Study in the Social Sciences (CEACS), which is part of the Instituto Juan March de Estudios e Investigaciones, is a research center in Sociology and Political Science. For two decades the center has specialized in PhD programs, and is currently developing post-doctoral research. CEACS forms part of an extensive international network of prestigious academic centers and research teams.

The Center’s main lines of research in Political Science and Sociology are the comparative study of institutions, voting and economic systems, as well as the analysis of inequality, social mobility and labor markets.

The Center places great emphasis on methodological rigor, comparative approaches and the integration of theoretical and empirical analyses. CEACS houses an extensive specialist library, produces its own publications, publishes collections of Working Papers, and runs various research activities including seminars, courses and congresses.
