The Centre for Advanced Study in the Social Sciences –CEACS (Juan March Institute, Madrid) invites applications for a senior research position in political science in the fields of comparative politics or political economy, with a strong analytical approach, commencing 1st October 2010.

Candidates must have a PhD degree obtained before 1st January 2004 and a solid record of publications.

Senior research fellows do not have teaching obligations. They are expected to produce research of top quality and to demonstrate leadership in the configuration of the research lines of the Center as well as in its academic activities (seminars, methodological workshops, conferences, and others).
 
Salary will be € 55,500 per year, plus an annual research fund of € 2,500 for academic travel and conferences. The contract will be for a period of five years, renewable upon a positive evaluation that will consider, above all, the record of publications.

The Center, which was established in 1986, is a small institution promoting high quality research in the social sciences. It has links with an extensive international network of research teams. It has an excellent specialized library which stores a huge number of political, sociological, and economic data sets.
