Bio
Javier Alcalde is
currently a researcher and program coordinator at the International Catalan Institute for Peace (ICIP)
in Barcelona and serves as co-editor of the ICIP working papers series. He also
teaches at the UAB Study Abroad program. He holds a PhD in Social and Political
Sciences from the European University Institute in Florence, a MA in Social
Sciences from the Juan March Institute in Madrid and a BA in Political Sciences
from the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona. He has taught in the Arcadia
University Abroad program, both in Florence and in Rome, and given a number of
seminars and conferences in other places, including the Richmond University
(Florence campus), the Università di Firenze and the University of Salamanca.
He has published a number of articles in international journals and book
chapters, as well as the monograph "International Disarmament Campaigns: a
Current State of Affairs". He is a member of the board of the Europan
Association of Peace Research (EUPRA).
