In the exposition we will try to manifest in a clear and understandable way, even for those not familiarized with the world of law, the importance that Roman law has for the European culture, whose main contribution is mainly linked to the science created by lawyers, within which we find the genesis itself of our law culture. After a brief sketch of Roman law as a historical phenomenon, we will show how the basis of the modern european law science has been built and what is its role in the training of lawyers and citizens in the 21st century.
