The conferences want to highlight the singularity of Dante's (1265-1321) work, and particularly of the Comedy, named "Divine". An exceptionality that is possible to perceive in its full extension and depth if we consider the extraordinary interest that it raises among the readers and among artists, musician, filmmakers and playwrights all around the world. In the first conference we will highlight the main lines of continuity and discontinuity between the preceding works (Rhymes, Vita nuova, Convivio, De Vulgari Eloquentia) and the Comedy, focusing in a particular in the way on the mechanisms presented along all of his work, and in others which are specific only to is major poem: ascending diagram, dames-myth, auto-narration, reality and fiction, the poetics and the experimentalism, etc.
In the second conference we will rather present the essential components of the Comedy: title, time, vision-travel, the architecture of guilt, the redemption and the grace, free will, etc., but above all, the construction of a world applying a “visibile parlare” characterized by the similarities and plastic images, as well as an extreme precision. For Dante, it is not enough saying " in the darkness of the seventh circle, the condemned squint their eyes to look at it; he compares them with men who look at each other under an uncertain moon or with the old tailor threading a needle" (J.L. Borges, Nueve ensayos dantescos).
