La Chute de la maison Usher (1928, France) by Jean Epstein (63')
Presentation: Elvira Lindo
An adaptation of a short horror story by Edgar Allan Poe (1839), which depicts an old noble mansion in which the owner paints a portrait of his wife and gradually takes away her life with every brushstroke. Its director, associated with avant-garde movements, presented a scary and very technically and aesthetically sophisticated film.
