Queen Kelly (La reina Kelly, USA, 1928), by Erich von Stroheim, featuring Gloria Swanson. (100 minutes)
Presented by: Vicente Molina Foix
Queen Kelly, the last film directed by Erich von Stroheim, was produced by Joseph P. Kennedy (the father of the US president) and has the actress Gloria Sawnson starring in it. Its Baroque action takes place in a Central European kingdom, and includes some delirious scenes in the spirits of Sacher-Masoch. The objections posed by the actress to his dare and the lift-of of sound cinema prevented Stroheim from finalizing it, but the version including photographs of the final truncated part will be played.
