The Fundación Juan March and the art
The Fundación Juan March regularly organizes monographic exhibitions on important international artists and artistic movements, principally of the twentieth century. Classes, lectures, and concerts are organized as ancillary events.
It also publishes catalogues, posters, reproductions, and didactic guides for its exhibitions and its permanent collection of Spanish contemporary art, which is comprised of more than 1,600 works by Spanish artists. The collection is exhibited in the Museo de Arte Abstracto Español, de Cuenca, Museu Fundación Juan March Palma, and the Foundation's headquarters in Madrid.
For its work in the field of art, the Foundation has received, among other awards, the Medal of Honor from the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando (1976) and the Medal of Honor for Merit in the Fine Arts, awarded by the King of Spain (1980).
