The Two Lives of Futurism URL:

The Two Lives of Futurism will review the intense life of the Italian avant-garde movement, from its foundation in 1909 to Mussolini’s rise to power, and subsequently from this point in time to the death of Marinetti. The legendary and decorative periods. In spite of the inseparable nature of the history of Italian futurism and the life of its founder, this lecture will look at essential figures of the heroic period –some of whom gave up futurism after some occasional dealings with it, as was the case with Soffici and Papini from Florence– and the essential documents in which the futurists laid the foundations of their main ambition: to conquer spaces using an artistic movement, in principle, prohibitted to art, like politics.
