This series will examine figures from the Old and New Testaments from a perspective dealing with their historical projection and their role in the discussions of various disciplines including history, philosophy, philology and theology.

The speakers will raise questions such as: Was there any need to back up and justify the progressive separation of Judaism, which was the common core of early Christianity? Is the “gospel” literary form a Christian invention? What “sense of history” did the composers of the texts of the modern-day Biblical Corpus have? To what extent has modern science shaped the “historical Paul” and “historical Jesus” figures?
