A free adaptation of the 1845 novel by Prosper Mérimée, shot in the north of California, in which the main character was performed by the soprano Geraldine Farrar, who had previously been successful as the star of the opera of the same name by Bizet and who would also bring life to Joan of Arc, another of the great characters brought to life by the director, famous for his large-scale historical and biblical productions such as Cleopatra and The Ten Commandments.

On Saturday, the video of the presentation recorded the day before will be shown.
