Long Pants (1927) by Frank Capra (58’)
Presentation: Román Gubern
Directed by Frank Capra and starring Harry Langdon. After he finally gets his first pair of long pants, the clever main character from the rural world turns his nose up at the girl his mother has chosen to be his girlfriend. Instead, he falls madly in love with an attractive criminal with links to the Mafia, which leads him into considerable trouble, albeit not void of perverse erotic connotations. Langdon would become both Luis Buñuel’s and Salvador Dalí’s favourite comedian.
On Saturday, the video of the presentation recorded the day before will be shown.
