Saturday ConcertsC. P. E. Bach and the sensitive style (I)

Béatrice Martin

Works by C. P. E. Bach, G. P. Telemann, D. Scarlatti and J. Duphly

Moving away from the Baroque tradition of the suite, C. P. E. Bach’s Prussian and Württemburg Sonatas, published in 1742 and 1744 respectively, reflect an exalted style of expression that converts them into a worthy transition between J. S. Bach and Haydn.
