In his Cuarteto written in 1923, Ernesto preludes the neoclassical aesthetic that would later infuse his Sinfonietta. 97 years later, Cristóbal composed his Cuarteto no. 11, the result of a life devoted to the assimilation of the European avant-garde in Spanish music.
