Saturday ConcertsFamily concerts (I)Creating with the body: Discovering dance

Works by A. Pärt, J. S. Bach, C. Burhans and C. Debussy

The arts in general and dance in particular do not belong to the unique realm of the artist. Their basic component lies in the communicative act. Taking this basic idea as a departure point, this educational project created by Kor’sia within the framework of the Foundation presents an exploration of the body as a player and of dance as a language in this communicative process. Particular emphasis will be placed on the importance of gestures for generating meaning, the existing dialogue between space and our own body or the aesthetic relationship between dance and other arts such as music and sculpture. The imagination, as Ken Robinson maintains, is “the primordial gift of the human conscious” and it helps us contribute to artistic creation.
