Polish virtuosity

Ludmil Angelov, piano

Works by F. Chopin, A. Michalowski, I. Friedman, J. Zarębski, M. Moszkowski, I. Paderewski and L. Godowsky.

After the death of Chopin, the ensuing generations of Polish composers gave a new lease of life to a tradition that would extend to Godowsky. Genres like the mazurka, the polonaise or the études were reworked under the prism of virtuosity, a tradition in which visual and aural perception are equally important.
