Chopin at the Paris fin-de-siècle
Luis Fernando Pérez, piano
Works by: F. Chopin, C. Debussy, and E. Granados
Published posthumously, Chopin’s Nocturne in C minor is a work from his late period, which dates from around 1846 or 1847. The piece contains some of the characteristics of the Chopinian legacy that his would be taken on by his heirs, like Debussy and Granados: the naturalness of the melodic gestures, the transparency and frankness in the expression and the apparent simplicity of textures that reflect a craftsmanship in precious metals.
