Joan Fontcuberta: "A good photographer is lies the truth very well"
Joan Fontcuberta in conversation with Antonio San José
The photographer Joan Fontcuberta analyses how the world thinks in images based on a reflection on the different forms of photographic language, from the origins of the portrait and family albums to the present, marked by the selfie phenomenon and social media. In Fontcuberta’s words, we are all "homo fotograficus" insofar as we interact with photographs. The artist also talks about several of his series of works that question the status of truth and deceit and reality and fiction, and discusses his facets as an essayist and teacher. To improve society, he underscores the importance of culture.
