Schubert's Andante un poco mosso, from Trío nº 2
Franz Schubert: "Andante un poco mosso", from Trio No. 2 in E flat major Op. 100 D 929
Schubert’s Piano Trio in E-flat major is one of the longest in music history. Its slow movement is based on a Swedish song of a popular nature that the composer became familiar with in an arrangement. This song, which is about loss and separation, plays with evocative modal elements with nostalgic affects that Schubert incorporated into his composition.
