Josep Borrell: "I saw the skin of Spain change"

Josep Borrell, interviewed by Íñigo Alfonso

The journalist Íñigo Alfonso interviews Josep Borrell in a memory exercise about his guest’s life and political career, in parallel with the country’s evolution. Among these recollections, he reviews his humble origins in the Catalan Pre-Pyrenees, training and early political activity upon arriving in Madrid as a student, the 1970s in Paris and Stanford (California) and his governmental activity as Secretary of State for Finance and Minister for Public Works. He also reflects on the European and national situation and social democracy, “the key to what happens in Spain must be interpreted in terms of the social transformation of all European societies and the impact of globalization”, concludes Borrell.
