Ferandiere: duos for two guitars
Eugenio Tobalina, guitar and Gonzalo Noqué Sánchez, guitar
Doos para two guitars by Fernando Ferandiere (c. 1740–c. 1816)
A violinist, composer and guitarist, Fernando Ferandiere is remembered for his treatise Arte de tocar la guitarra por música, one of the first printed sources for the six-stringed guitar. Among his most important works from the wide repertoire he composed for the instrument are his duets for two guitars in the galant style. In these pieces, the instrument forms part of this chamber group, which was very attractive to amateur musicians.
