Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov used different melodies from José Inzenga’s songbook to compose his Capriccio espagnol.A masterpiece of Spanish exoticism, it was premiered in St Petersburg and resonated internationally after being performed in Paris during the Exposition Universelle of 1889. This video features a performance of the version for piano, 4 hands, the work of Rimsky-Korsakov himself, who helped in its transmission in private settings.
