The Couperins at the harpsichord

Aapo Häkkinen, clave

Works by L. Couperin, G. F. Couperin and F. Couperin

The Couperin family occupies a prominent place in the history of Western music, its harpsichord music being one of the most extraordinary legacies left to us by the French Baroque. The pieces of Louis (1626-1661) preserved in the Bauyn manuscript and the four books of Pièces de clavecin by François (1668-1733) were already in their time as references of the harpsichord repertoire.
