Premieres and Re-Premieres (109). Unpublished Voices: Women Composers

Eugenia Boix, soprano; Teresa Valente, cello and Susana García de Salazar, piano

Works by E. Chacón, E. de Zubeldia, A. Bringuet-Idiartborde and J. A. Carricaburu

Ana Bringuet-Idartborde transmitted to Aita Donostia in 1943 her concern about the disappearance of her music after her death. Her suite Au lac de Côme is recovered in Voices Unpublished: women composers together with the work of Julie Adrienne Carricaburu, a pioneering folklorist from the mid-19th century who collected songs in the Souletin dialect, later recorded in Souvenir des Pyrénées; Emiliana de Zubeldia, trained at the Parisian Schola Cantorum and also inspired by the folklore in Soles y brumas de España, and Emma Cachón, a leading student of Granados who founded the Impulso publishing house to ensure the survival of her work.
