"The Devil's Dance", from The Soldier's Tale, suite for clarinet, violin and piano, by Igor Stravinsky (1882–1971)

Igor Stravinsky's The Soldier's Tale premiered in Lausanne in 1918. Originally written for violin, double bass, clarinet, bassoon, trumpet, trombone, percussion and three actors, it was part of a kind of traveling theater project that would be simple and easy to transport, something essential in post-war times. This version for clarinet, violin and piano is by Stravinsky himself and is dedicated to Wener Reinhart, the amateur clarinetist who financed the original project.
