Quartet No. 1 in D minor, "Oriental", by Conrado del Campo
Conrado del Campo began his overwhelming quartet production in 1903, when he was twenty-five years old. Premiered in 1904, his Quartet No. 1 in D minor, "Oriental", surprised by its proportions and technical complexity. The composer carried out a very free evocation of the orientalist imaginary, inspired, in the last movement, by an Arabian Fantasy by Mariano Fortuny.
