Takadimi: orchestrating the subdivision

BOOST Grupo de Percusión (Antonio Martín Aranda, Gregorio Gómez Sánchez, Pablo Serí Leganés and Roberto Fernández Duro)

The Konnakol technique, originating from the Carnatic music of South India, is a form of vocal percussion that uses syllables to designate the different fractions of the pulse. Applied to the teaching of binary subdivision in the West with the takadimi formula, we can create canons and interesting orchestrations thanks to body percussion. This video is part of the educational project Noise, pulse, rhythm: the world of percussion.
