Bocherinni's Trio in D major
Luigi Boccherini: Trío en D major Op. 35 nº 5, G 105
Although it may come as a surprise to us, the string trio was one of the most popular genres in Spain at the end of the eighteenth century. Boccherini composed his String Trio in C Major in 1781 while he was living in Arenas de San Pedro in the service of the Infante Luis. The work stands out for the contrast between the melancholy of the initial “Largo” and the expansive joy of the “Allegro vivo”, as well as the extraordinary development of the finale, a theme with four variations.
