Brunetti's Trio in E flat Major
Trio in E flat major, Serie VI Nº 3, L 117 by Gaetano Brunetti (first modern-times performance)
Gaetano Brunetti’s Trio in E flat Major is on the same wavelength as Haydn. Among the most interesting moments of the work are the bold chromatic passages in the second part of the first movement and the second movement, which cites an early trio by Carlo Antonio Campioni. The sombre nature of these excerpts contrasts with the festive “Allegretto un poco vivace”, whose form combines the rondo, theme and variations and the minuet.
