Presentation of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1920)

Luis Alberto de Cuenca

Luis Alberto de Cuenca presents, as part of the silent film series "Literary Adaptations", the film Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, directed by John S. Robertson based on the novel The strange Case of Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde (London, 1886). Robertson's film accentuates the climate of terror that was already present in the novel, converting the images of the film into unforgettable samples of what silent films understood by terrifying celluloid, always with German expressionist cinema as a model.
