Mario Gas, who features in the tenth session of “Poetics and Theatre”, here in his facet as an actor and in collaboration with Ricardo Moya, stages a small play by Ramón Valle-Inclán that is very difficult to classify. The work is an esperpento (a literary genre associated with Valle-Inclán deforming reality to overemphasise the grotesque) written in 1922 that reflects the irony, humour and sarcasm of Valle-Inclán’s late period. The action takes place in a small newspaper editorial office in Las Hurdes
