Improvised music: Unwritten Classicism
David Dolan, piano; John Kenny, trombone y Cristina Moreno, narrator
In this concert, David Dolan and John Kenny used the classical and neoclassical styles as the musical language on which to base their improvisations, accompanied by their own didactic explanations (with Spanish subtitles). Using various examples, the performers demonstrated different ways of improvising based on genuine classical forms. The risk always inherent in performing without a score reached its limits here as there were two musicians improvising simultaneously: the themes one of them invented conditioned the response of the other.
