Intellectual Autobiography of Rafael Agullol

Rafael Argullol in dialogue with Carlos García Gual

In dialogue with Carlos García Gual, Rafael Argullol assures that he prefers to be identified and defined, above all, as writer. He wanted to be surgeon and ended being a voyager who unveils literature and philosophy, ending as aesthetics professor. His work shows openness to Greek classics, German philosophers such as Goethe and Spanish essentials such as Cervantes. He is externally and internally a travelling soul, and this aspect has inspired works such as "Davalú or the Pain" and "View from the Sea’s depth", the last one is an insight to Argullol’s essence; “I have painted, I have written—he says—my portrait, with the puzzle technique”. “To extract the continuous life from forgetfulness”.
