“A musician cannot move others unless he himself is moved”, wrote Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, who transferred these principles to his works. This idea is expressed, for example, in this Sonata in G minor, in which contrasts, declamatory elements and instrumental recitative abound. History has grouped these aesthetic premises under the name Empfindsamer Stil (sensitive style), a concept closely linked to the works of Carl Philipp.
