Responsibility to future generations

Ignacio Cirac in conversation with Antonio San José

In this extract from Conversations at the Fundación, the physicist Ignacio Cirac looks towards the future in formulating his proposals for improving society. “Today’s education is tomorrow’s future”, he declares, while calling for a greater commitment to education as a civilising force. He seeks greater support for science and expresses his concern about the increasing deterioration of our planet, an issue that should be better understood and addressed by politicians and rulers, as an inexcusable responsibility to future generations.
