In Search of the Highest Mountain Peak

Eduardo Martínez de Pisón

The earliest exploration in search of the highest mountain peak was strictly geographical and its location divagated from mountain range to mountain range, from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic islands, followed by the Andes in South America, until very belatedly reaching Asia with Mount Everest, in the Himalayas. Mountain climbers then explored the region to find the route the top. This is a story of beautiful landscapes, science, perseverance and bravery.
