Miguel Zugaza and the legacy of the Enlightenment

Miguel Zugaza in conversation with Antonio San José

Coinciding with the 195th anniversary of the Museo Nacional del Prado, its director Miguel Zugaza looks back over his career and talks about his work as head of the museum. His proposals for improving society involve revisiting the three great emblems of the Enlightenment (freedom, equality and brotherhood) in order to translate them to today’s society. For Zugaza, today freedom is equivalent to responsibility, equality to justice, and brotherhood to respecting global diversity.
