How is a melody traced? Klee and Mozart
Ana María Valderrama, violin & Luis del Valle, piano. Presenter: Fernando Palacios
Melodies are like the lines of a painting: a succession of dots that trace the contours of the notes. Using the “Allegro” from Mozart’s Violin Sonata in E minor, this video explains the similarities between some of Paul Klee’s paintings and the melodies of this Mozartian work, which are presented under different guises in the violin and the piano.
