Can music be seen? Colour, Synaesthesia and Scriabin
Ana María Valderrama, violin & Luis del Valle, piano. Presenter: Fernando Palacios
This video, presented by Fernando Palacios, demonstrates the interaction between sound and colour combining the performance of two Scriabin preludes with the projection of lighting effects. This highlights the relationship between music and painting and challenges the audience to “see sounds” and “hear colours”, a phenomenon of sensory perception some people have known as synaesthesia.
