Mozart: "Andante cantabile" from the Sonata en C major
Miguel Baselga, piano
“Andante cantabile”, from the Sonata in C major KV 330 by W. A. Mozart
The Sonata K 330, dating from 1783, is one of the consummate examples of Mozart’s typical works for the piano: the apparent simplicity of the composition conceals a complex equilibrium of sounds, phrases and tensions. The central movement toys with different keys, going from F major to its parallel minor in the central section, which features particularly dark and lyrical elements.
