The multi-faceted John Cage was responsible for many musical revolutions, but his works for prepared piano have proven to be the most emblematic. The century-old classical piano was actually transformed into a percussion instrument. The insertion of various materials (rubber bands, screws, pieces of wood...) between the piano strings, which the composer meticulously indicates in the score, generates an intriguing and unchartered sound world.
