Conversation with Martin Chirino

Martín Chirino in conversation with Antonio San José

The Canary-Islander sculptor Martín Chirino discusses his life and career and recalls some of his most important moments, in a journey that goes from his origins and Island roots –deeply-seated in the identity and evolution of his work– to his studies in Madrid, his incorporation into the group El Paso and his trips to Italy and the US before receiving international recognition. He makes special reference to the recent creation of the Fundación Arte y Pensamiento Martín Chirino in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, of which he is President. To improve today’s society, he proposes reflection, thought and culture.
