Oscar Wilde, dramatized readings

Juan Codina and David Luque, actors, Fernando Galván, José Ferrero, tenor and Aurelio Viribay, piano

The actors Juan Codina and David Luque present the dramatised reading of four excerpts from works by Oscar Wilde, introduced and discussed by Professor Fernando Galván, which are taken from the essays The Decay of Lying and The Critic as Artist in dialogue form, the novel The Portrait of Dorian Grey and the posthumous letter-confession De Profundis. The texts reflect some of the Irish writer’s principles about the supremacy of art over life or thought over action. The session includes the performance of songs based on Wilde’s poems, by the tenor José Ferrero and the pianist Aurelio Viribay.
