José Sacristan, Interpreter of the common people
José Sacristán in conversation with Antonio San José
The actor José Sacristán evokes his childhood, his early work in a mechanical workshop and his beginnings in the acting world. He recalls the great professionals that inspired him and outlines the plays and films that have marked his career. He is proud of these achievements, as they have “ably transmitted the concerns, feelings, frustrations, desires of ordinary people”. He also comments on some of his most recent roles, which he combines for television, theatre and cinema, while he points out the importance of always continuing to learn in his profession. To improve society, he proposes that reflection should begin with oneself and encourages non-conformity with the demands of the ruling power.
