Mompou and Granados, consequences of Chopin
Josep Colom, piano
Works by F. Chopin, F. Mompou, and E. Granados
Chopin was a point of reference for the composers of the European periphery at the beginning of the twentieth century. This was the case with Enrique Granados, who summarised the legacy of the Romantic salon in his works with the search for a national essence based on historical musics. And with Federico Mompou, who responded to Chopin’s example both directly and through Fauré and Debussy.
