Sergio Pagán presents the concert "Passions of the Soul: Sadness"

Melancholy became fashionable in England between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Various authors, influenced by the Neo-Platonism of Marsilio Ficino, vindicated this mood, which is associated with artistic genius. In this presentation to the Concordia Viol Consort concert, Sergio Pagán analyses the influence of this passion of the soul in the music of John Dowland and in the texts of Robert Burton.
