“Each book is a journey”
José María Merino and José Enrique Martínez
Poetics and Narrative
From his early days in poetry, José María Merino’s career as a narrator is revealed as a journey of experimentation and exploration of several of its central issues, such as identity, doubles and dreams. During the dialogue with Professor José Enrique Martínez, generational and biographical aspects of his works are discussed, while to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Cervantes’s death, Merino reads several chapters from Don Quixote and some short stories inspired by Cervantes from his output.
