The Poetry of Pere Rovira

Pere Rovira

In this second session devoted to the poet Pere Rovira, the protagonist reads and comments on various poems selected from those composed over more than thirty years and from which some of the constants in the author’s works emerge, such as his references to the poet’s craft –Charles Baudelaire, Antonio Machado and Jaime Gil de Biedma–, the centrality of the family as an emotional core and the theme of nostalgia, not as a look at the past but as the present taken towards the future. This selection of poems are read in the version translated into Castilian Spanish –most by Celina Alegre– and several are also presented in their original version in Catalan.
