Jorge Moscat

Jorge Moscat

Born in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) in 1957, is currently Investigative Professor at the Centre for Molecular Biology Severo Ochoa and director of the Institute of Molecular Biology of the Spanish National Research Council (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas) and of the Autónoma University of Madrid.

Previously worked in the Department of Internal Medicine at the San Carlos Hospital and the Department of Experimental Medicine at the Gregorio Marañon Hospital, both located in Madrid, and in the Cellular and Molecular Biology Laboratory of the National Cancer Institute, in Bethesda (USA), with a scholarship from Fundación Juan March.

Published numerous scientific articles in specialised journals, both Spanish and non-Spanish. Holds various distinctions and in 1995 was elected member of the European Molecular Biology Organisation (EMBO).
