Turina in Paris

7, 14, 21 March, and 2 April 2012
Wednesday Series:

Introduction

At the beginning of the twentieth century, no city could compete with the musical life of Paris, a powerful centre of attraction for Spanish composers and performers. Joaquín Turina was no exception. He lived in the French capital from 1905 to 1913, possibly his most productive and decisive artistic period. This cycle recreates those years programming some of his works, together with others, by Spanish composers who lived in Paris at the time, or French composers who had an influence on his training.
